About me

Thierry Luyer

Independent photographer based in Vannes in Morbihan in France, I am passionate about seascape photography.

Through numerous scuba diving cruises, I have had the privilege of sailing on the seas of Sulu in the Philippines, Celebes and Flores in Indonesia, the Red Sea in Egypt, and the Gulf of Oman in the Sultanate of the same name, in the Indian Ocean through the Maldives, Seychelles, Reunion Island and Madagascar, and many others... I saw magnificent seascapes and underwater landscapes, sometimes colorful, inhabited, rich in biodiversity, sometimes desert, uninhabited and inhospitable to humans, guarantor of preserved nature.

These experiences fueled my passion for photography and today it is on the Brittany coasts that I try to capture and share these landscapes that inspire me.

I like to return to the same place, turn around the subject, photograph it at different times of the day, at different seasons of the year, then select only the best shots. I also like to understand the objects and phenomena I photograph: equinox tide, rainbow.. and which are the subject of articles in my blog. I prepare and photograph differently when I know the history of these objects and the nature mechanisms.

Long exposures, symmetry, reflections, rising or setting sun regularly appear in my seascapes without being an absolute constant.
