Norway's Vesterålen Islands

Day 10:

En route to Vesterålen amid a ghostly atmosphere.

I meet triathletes participating in the "Arctic Triple" (a 4-kilometer swim, a 196-kilometer bike ride, and a 45-kilometer run) in hellish weather conditions. Respect!

I arrive in Stokmarknes late in the evening after taking the car ferry from Fiskebøl to Melbo. The town and its port are deserted... Even in this gloomy weather, which greatly reduces visibility, the view of the fjord remains superb. Atmosphere...

    Day 11

This morning, I'm heading to Andenes, a town at the northernmost tip of Andøya Island, a two-hour drive away. The weather is still as unpredictable as ever, and the heavy rain is treating me to a festival of rainbows!

On the west coast of Andøya Island, the Børhella lighthouse and its small white cabin facing the sea.

I return to Stokmarknes in the evening, where the sun taunts me by making a brief appearance, hinting a beginning of sunset for about 10 minutes...

    Day 12

This morning I'm heading to Nykvåg, a place known for its colonies of puffins and guillemots, but they've already migrated at this time of year. On the way, I stop to take a picture of this isolated cabin in this awesome setting.

On my way to Hovden, I stopped to photograph an isolated yellow house nestled at the foot of a mountain.

    Day 13

On my last day in Norway, I cross the mountains to reach Eveness Airport. I take advantage of the brief breaks in the rain to take a few photos. Despite the terrible weather over the last three days, the landscapes remain majestic.

One last rainbow for the road!
